Your eBay reputation, carried with you
TrueVouch is a trust record for people who buy, sell, and trade collectibles with strangers. Every member verifies a government ID, deals are confirmed by both sides, and the record belongs to the member. Connecting an eBay account lets a member show the reputation they earned on eBay wherever they trade, with every mention linking back to eBay.
eBay approved the integration. Connecting an account is live for members, from Settings. TrueVouch is in alpha, so the member list is small and growing.
What connecting does
You start it, from Settings. eBay shows its own consent screen, you approve, and eBay sends you back. TrueVouch reads the public summary of your eBay reputation and puts a tile on your profile: your eBay username, feedback score, positive percentage, the year you joined, and Top Rated when it applies. The tile is marked as eBay’s and links to your eBay profile.
One eBay account links to one TrueVouch record. You can disconnect at any time from the same screen, and the tile, the stored summary, and the token go with it.
What TrueVouch reads
- Your eBay username and user id, so one eBay account links to exactly one TrueVouch record.
- Your feedback score and positive feedback percentage.
- The year you joined eBay.
- Your positive, neutral, and negative feedback counts for the last 30, 180, and 365 days.
- Your seller level (Top Rated, Above Standard, or Below Standard) if you sell.
What it never reads
- Individual feedback comments, or who left them.
- Your listings, items, orders, purchases, or inventory.
- Your buyers or sellers.
- Your name, email address, street address, or phone number.
- Your eBay password. Sign-in happens on eBay, never on TrueVouch.
How the data is handled
- Standard OAuth 2.0 through eBay’s consent page. TrueVouch never sees an eBay password.
- The refresh token is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) under a key that lives only in the server environment. Access tokens are used for one request and discarded.
- The summary is refreshed once every 30 days, overnight, so the tile stays current without asking you again.
- Disconnecting deletes the token and removes the eBay identity from your record. Deleting your TrueVouch account does the same.
- eBay’s account deletion notifications are received and honored automatically: when eBay tells us an account closed, every stored eBay identifier for it is removed.
- eBay content appears in its own tile, marked as eBay’s, separate from everything else on the page, and is never resold, never combined into rankings across sellers, and cached only while the connection exists.
- No scraping of ebay.com, no automated bidding, buying, listing, repricing, or arbitrage of any kind.
For eBay reviewers
The APIs and scopes the application uses, and nothing else:
- Commerce Identity API, getUser commerce.identity.readonly: user id and username; the name, email, address, and phone scopes are never requested.
- Feedback summary: Commerce Feedback API getFeedbackRatingSummary, or Trading API GetUser and GetFeedback at summary level api_scope: score, positive percentage, registration date, period counts; no feedback detail.
- Sell Analytics API, getSellerStandardsProfile sell.analytics.readonly: the member’s own seller level, shown only on their own profile.
Call volume is small: one set of calls when a member connects, and one refresh per connected member every 30 days. The Marketplace Account Deletion notification endpoint is live at api.truevouch.com/v1/webhooks/ebay-deletion and verifies eBay’s signature on every notification.
Who builds it
TrueVouch is built by two collectors who trade on eBay themselves. Jordan Larrigan runs The Poké Garden on eBay and Josh Decker sells as rain_city_cards; the two ran Tagboard together as CEO and CTO for ten years before this. TrueVouch, LLC is a Washington company in Redmond.
